Why I switched to using a bar of shampoo vs bottled 1. Reduce Plastic Waste: Shampoo bars require less packaging and have a smaller environmental impact. Most shampoo bars are packed plastic-free and in biodegradable paper. 2. Travel Friendly: With a shampoo bar you don’t have to worry about the shampoo spilling in your suitcase - what a mess! Plus, no worries about an airport TSA agent taking your shampoo due to being over the 3.4 liquid ounces limit. 3. Bang For Your Buck: Shampoo bars generally contain only active hair care ingredients and oils. The number one ingredient in bottle shampoo is water. I haven’t noticed any difference in the texture or feel of my hair with bar vs bottled shampoo – and have been happy with how it looks. If you use a bar shampoo, what brand do you use? Also, do you have a conditioner to recommend?

🌱Do you know of a company that puts eco-labels on their products? If so, let us know so Softly can showcase them! Nutrition labels on food packaging made it easier for us to see and understand the nutritional makeup of what we eat. The EPA is now working on Eco-labels and standards to help consumers quickly and easily identify products that meet specific environmental criteria. Some companies are voluntarily taking it even further, by providing the full environmental impact a product has on the environment, from the raw materials to manufacturing and distribution. Kudos to those going above and beyond! Nutrition labels on food packaging made it easier for us to easily see and understand the nutritional makeup of what we eat.
